Nose section of C-47B-35-DK Skytrain ZK-AWO drawing the attention of motorists on State Highway 8 near Omarama aerodrome. The Skytrain entered service with the RNZAF as NZ3548 in the final months of WWII, first with No.40 Squadron at Whenuapai and from 1946 until July 1952 with No.41 Squadron. ZK-AWO was wfu in 1984 with the nose section preserved by Chris Rudge, here at Omarama and currently at Pukaki aerodrome (TWZ/NZUK), Twizel.
