On 11th May 1984 while flying with No 1 FTS at Linton-on-Ouse the aircraft struck a barrier on landing . No injuries to the student or instructor , the aircraft was sent to RAF Shawbury for evaluation and was officially written off. Sent to RAF Newton in November 1985 for ground training , the aircraft was scrapped by 1995 as the base was due for closure.
