The Tasmanian Division of the Royal Australian Air Force Association hosted the commemoration of the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th September 2025. The commemorations are held annually to commemorate the air battle from 10th July to 31st October 1940 over southern England in which 30 Royal Australian Air Force pilots fought and 10 were killed in action. Photographed is McDonnell Douglas/Boeing C17A Globemaster III A41-209, S/N 50185, call sign "Stallion 23" from the RAAF's 36 Squadron, during the flypast on the Sunday over the Commemorative Wreath Laying Service at Hobart's Cenotaph on the Queens Domain.
