Photo by John Stewart. This is a G model with a 24J N number and lacks a confirmed identity. From a correspondent - The J model had the big tail, curved windshield and curved-up rear window. The J model also had the skinny steel tube gear. The G model had the small tail, curved-down rear window and sectioned off windshield, obviously the windshield on the airplane in the photo is curved (probably a late model replacement),...and has the fabric covered "Sport Gear". Looking at the airplanes in the background, this could be a 1946'ish photo...and a G model rebuilt using a J model windshield and N number. The paint job is obviously not original. The only other airframe it could be, would be an E, also with mix-matched parts.
