Originally part of the aborted Capital Airlines Electra order, N181H was leased to the U.S. Navy for six months, Jul 1960 to Jan 1961, and converted for use as a range instrumentation aircraft for the Pacific Missile Range (PMR), operating from NAS Point Mugu, California.
