One of two aircraft modified as a QT-2 from Schweizer SGS 2-32 sailplanes as part of the US Army’s Quiet Thrust program. Sent to Vietnam for evaluation and temporarily designated as a QT-2PC (for the “Prize Crew” evaluation program). After return from Vietnam both aircraft were transferred to the Navy’s Test Pilot School as X-26Bs, this one with the serial “715345”. This photo was taken at the original US Army Aviation Museum after the aircraft was returned to the Army. A photo of this aircraft on the display floor at the new Army Aviation Museum (without wings attached) in 2018 was published by the Museum. However, in 2024 the aircraft was not listed on the Museum website, neither as “on display” nor “in storage”, and its current status is unknown. The second QT-2 was eventually sold on the civilian market and converted back to a sailplane.
