Ex USAAF 42-93007. On D-Day 6th June 1944 whilst serving with the 86th Troop Carrier Squadron, 437th Troop Carrier Group USAAF, this aircraft towed a glider from RAF Ramsbury carrying men and equipment to a landing zone near Sainte-Mère-Église, Normandy. It was retired to the MASDC “boneyard” at Tucson in April 1964, and bought by Embry Riddle University in Miami, FL., as N72420. In 1973 it was acquired by the Lee County Mosquito Control District as a spares source to support the operation of their DC-3 sprayer fleet and lapsed into dereliction at their Buckingham Field base.
