C-117D 17171 from US Navy seen on final approach to runway 28. Built in 1944 as a C-47A/R4D-5. Converted to R4D-8 (Super DC-3) in 1951. Redesignated C-117D in 1962. Damaged beyond repair in a forced landing in Iceland in 1973.
