The Heston Type 5 Racer was a single seat aircraft of wooden construction specifically designed to achieve the World Air Speed record. The engine was a 2450hp Napier Sabre. Unfortunately, it crashed and was severely damaged on it’s first flight in June 1940 and the attempt was abandoned. Picture from Lawrence Hole
