The British aircraft industry offered British airlines two tailwheel types post-war, the Tudor (foreground) saw limited service with BSAA but rejected by BOAC was sold off to Freddie Laker's Air Charter operation and used on many trooping and military cargo flights. The RAF Hastings (rear) was successfully developed from the original tailwheel Hermes ....the nosewheel variant of the Hermes, supplied to BOAC, was only briefly used by the Corporation before being sold off to charter companies and was a frequent sight at Entebbe
