This was a pre-war DC-3 from the TWA fleet (NC17324) but appears to have had its original Wright R-1820 Cyclones replaced by P&W R-1830 Twin Wasps and the passenger door moved to the LH side by 1954?...on L.A.P. South, '3-bay alloy' Comet hangar (Huntings) to left, old Fairey hangar visible to right. Scaife later had a Convair 440 marked N8860, and had it converted to a 580. Later they used a DC-9-15, again registered N8860.
