The US Navy briefly based a couple of their amphibian Mariners at Port Lyautey airfield Morocco to enable rapid resupply at sea for their warships in the Mediterranean area. The Neptune behind 122969/NB-41 of VC-5 Sqdn was a HATWING aircraft which could launch from a carrier with an atomic bomb (having been craned aboard)...122969 was fitted with an arrester hook and although trial carrier approaches had been made no Neptune ever recovered to a carrier.
