Trimotors were becoming rarer post-war. This example was wrecked 11 DEC 1953....'The crew was performing a local training flight at Rome-Centocelle Airport. On finals, they decided to go around to avoid another aircraft on approach, stalled and crashed on sand short of the runway and hit a dyke. Both pilots injured, aircraft damaged beyond repair.'
