First flown as a Series 1A G-ATCP at Chester 30 June 1965 and operated in the US as N926G and later N125G, this was selected as the 'Early Aircraft Conversion' prototype. First flown after TFE731 retrofit at Chester 14 December 1978 it was based at Hatfield for flight trials prior to delivery to Garrett AiResearch in 1979
