The aircraft was at the time on lease to "Norsk Forurensningskontroll AS of Bodoe, Norway (see: Norsk Forurensningskontroll AS on Wikipedia), and used for the development and promotion of aerial application and detection equipment for treatment of oil spill at sea. After being displayed at Farnborough, the aircraft and crew participated in a major oil spill exercise by Esso in the Solent, UK.
