Following a series of making and breaking world aviation record flights in Commanche G-ATOY, Shelia Scott obtained a larger aircraft in the form of this Piper Aztec. This enabled her to continue her record making flights starting from London on the 11th June 1971 returning on the 4th August 1971 with more records including first solo light aircraft flight over the North Pole. The aircraft was returned to the manufacturer for overhaul but was damaged and written off in the 1972 floods at Piper's Lock Haven factory.
