Carries Thai flag on tailfin as this was personal a/c of Prince Birabongse Bhanudej Bhanubandh (1914-85) better known as Prince Bira of Siam. The Thai prince was a pre-WWII racing driver, a post war Formula One racing driver and an Olympic sailor. In 1952 he flew this a/c from London to Bangkok leading to the flags on the forward fuselage indicating the countries listed. Blue with yellow stripe were Thailand's motor racing colours and were used on all Bira's cars. When first purchased the a/c carried a winged white mouse on the forward fuselage; White Mouse Racing being the Prince's racing team, whose badge was a white mouse without wings.
