One of a pair that diverted into here due to a tanker issue while en route from Spangdahlem to Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio for depot-level maintenance. All Egyptian markings were removed and temporary US insignia was applied for the ferry flight. Both F-4's had serviceability issues while here and returned to Germany the following day to be fixed and finally reached the US on 25/4
