From a correspondent - This was the day after Lancaster NX611 arrived by air from RAF Hullavington, Wiltshire (26-6-1970). When we (Reflectaire) arrived at Blackpool Airport we discovered to our dismay that both the Sabre jet (G-ATBF) and our Supermarine FR47 Seafire (VP441), along with our Slingsby Glider fuselage & many other valuable historic museum pieces which had been transported from RAF Hullavington a couple of days before by road had been simply 'dumped' unceremonially on the ground ! The Sabre's fuselage had been damaged in that process, with a bad 'dent' cut into the top surface in front of the tailfin (as in this photo). Other items were similarly damaged and other items had "gone missing".
