The aircraft was returning to Canada landing at Prestwick on route to Keflavik, Goose Bay, and Ottawa after a very successful deployment doing collaborative radar research UK, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Belgium, and France. The radome at the rear held side looking antennas of a synthetic aperture radar. In 2015, the aircraft was donated to the Canada Aviation and Space Museum in Ottawa, Canada after 62 years of service.
