Date is a guess. Taken after it was first assembled on its floats. From a correspondent - I used to help man the rescue boat at Lee-on-Solent (Royal Naval Air Station HMS Ariel/HMS Daedalus) and the aircraft was there and flying before June 1963. My reward for helping in the rescue boat was a flight in the front seat being flown be Captain George Easton, ex. Land Speed Record Holder, a delightful man. G-AIVW later flew from a gravel pit in Kent I think, had a prang and was repaired. The aircraft is now in Sweden registered under its RAF training yellow colours and with its âT****â registration.
