From an exchange of negatives 50 years ago, date is a guess. Note fitted for spraying with a chemical hopper in the cabin. This Hicks and Lawrence J-3 Cub ( Crop Sprayer ) was owned by Hicks & Lawrence Ltd. Tillsonburg Airport, Tillsonburg, Ontario Canada. The Aircraft's home base was at Tillsonburg airport, however, the photo appears to have been taken at St.Thomas airport, ( St. Thomas Ontario Canada ), a short distance West of Tillsonburg. Hicks & Lawrence operated out of St. Thomas airport also, and eventually moved the entire operation to the St. Thomas airport in 1962 / '63. The photo was most likely taken in 1961 / 1962, as Hicks & Lawrence didn't get their ( entire ) fleet of Cubs and Stearman crop sprayers into the colour scheme shown on this aircraft, CF - DHH until 1962. The colours were Bahama Blue and Daytona White / Black Lettering with Red border outlines, the finish on the aircraft was Randolph Butyrate Dope.
