From a pilot who flew her - What a beautiful well maintained aircraft. I flew this plane (CF-TAE) and it's sister aircraft CF-RND. If my memory serves me correctly both these aircraft were based in Carp Ontario Canada. I am not 100% sure but I think one was an E-18 and the other was a D-18. CF-TAE was used to service Bradely's Polar Shelf Contract. It was not unusual to see both CF-TAE and CF-RND side by side being repaired in Carp Ont. and serviced in preparation for their work up North (CF-TAE) and Charter Services (CF-RND) respectively. These 18's were so cold and it was not unusual to blow an oil cooler. Quite often we took the oil out at night to keep it warm and put the oil back in before our trip in the morning. It should be noted that CF-RND was purchased from the famous Maggie Carsons and her luggage company Carson Luggage. Maggie kept CF-RND's interior in great shape for southern charter. Prior to me taking over as the Captain of CF-RND in 1970 - 1973 a very nice English Captain Clive Martin was flying as Captain. CF-TAE (and later C-FTAE) after it's PCSP days, went on to serve flying medical isotopes from Ottawa to Newark and Bedford, via Syracuse. Later it went to Air 500 and was written off after a crash at Waterloo Airport.
