Engine change in the open after emergency landing. Ex F-WWER. From the Captain on this flight - We lost the right engine at 24,000 flying from Oslo to Berlin TXL. The gearbox jammed with what was thought to be a chip off one of the gears and it blew the torque link between the engine and the reduction gearbox of the propeller. The engine with no load on it ran away taking out most of the power turbines races. I still have some turbine blades to prove it. P&W modified the gears so they wouldn't totally take out the gearbox if a chip got into the mesh after this. Became F-WQIT, C-GICB, ZS-DHL, PK-YRP, w/o 02.11.2010 near Balikpapan (Indonesia) - a/c landed on a field after engine failure.
