First flight May 1 2000, delivered United Air Lines May 12 as N128UA. Shortly after this shot, May 7 2010 N128UA on take-off for San Francisco, California as UA870 with 220 passengers on board, suffered a severe tail strike on runway 34L, which was reported by the crew of another airliner waiting for clearance on an adjacent taxiway. UA870 then climbed to 8000ft and started dumping fuel over the Tasman Sea and returned safe after holding about 80 mins. The a/c left Sydney May 11 empty with a service flight number UA9918 for Pusan, South Korea, where UA had in-charge heavy maintenance service for their 747-400s. Back to service since.
