Reportedly El Paso airport known as being the final destination of the first U.S. jet aircraft hijacking, when a Continental Airlines flight CO54 between Los Angeles and Houston, flown by a Boeing 707-124 (N70775) was diverted to this West Texan city on 3 August 1961.
