The high-wing monoplane Widgeon, not the helicopter. Named "Kookaburra" the remains were recovered from the East Tanami Desert in 1978. They had lain there since 10 April 1929 when the aircraft had been forced to make an emergency landing. It had taken off from Alice Springs earlier that day to take part in the search for the missing aviators Charles Kingsford Smith and Charles Ulm.
