Carries hs at the base of the fin in memory of the Comandante of the 36ð Stormo, Helmut Seidl, who lost his life leading a suicidal SIAI S.84 torpedo attack against Allied shipping in the Med. As the 12ð Gruppo is an interceptor unit, the fin flash faces upwards: when the 156ð Gruppo was with the 36ð Stormo, the fin flash faced down, representing ground attack.
