This EC-135C is characterised by a satellite communications (MILSTAR system) antenna fairing above its forward fuselage; a `saddle' radome above its centre fuselage; forward-facing High Frequency (HF - 3 to 30 MHz) probe antennas on both wingtips; a ventral housing for the trailing aerial used with the Very Low/Low Frequency (VLF/LF - 3 to 300 kHz) AN/ARC-96 communications system and a variety of other blade and wire communications aerials positioned around its fuselage.
