Date is approximately late Feb/early March 1970 and despite the âofficialâ change of registered ownership paperwork - it was probably owned by RAFGSA at the time of the photo. The Chipmunk had just been converted at Rush Green from an Agricultural Mk23 spreading aircraft to a Mk22 as a glider tug for the Royal Air Force Gliding and Soaring Association. Note the Bristol â bubbleâ canopy , mudguards and slats.
