On 13/11/05, after a very long restoration to flying condition, N9612 took off for a 20 minute test flight from Goldsboro-Wayne Municipal Airport, North Carolina. It was flown to Richmond in December 2005 for display for a short time in the museum. It was last registered to an owner in Missoula, Montana, but the airworthiness certificate expired on 30/9/11. The FAA registry airworthiness category, bizarrely, is "glider"!
