The chief pilot for the Cornwall parachute centre between 1978/9 and 1982/3 writes that the aircraft was then painted white with orange flashing. Sadly, a secondary pilot was called in to fly it one day he was not available, and failed to perform a correct tie down. (The a/c was kept at the end of the old WW2 taxi way that served as my runway, and there were no permanent tie downs, so rocks were used. ) The following day when he returned to the club, G-ASLH was found to be upside down with the spar of one wing broken, damage to that wing tip was also present. The fin was damaged quite severely. There was no evidence of the propeller having been hit in its overturn.
