NH799 is under restoration to airworthy condition with AvSpecs at Ardmore. In 1996 the Spitfire crashed on take-off from Wanaka. The Spitfire was originally restored by Historic Flying Ltd, Audley End, in the early 90s and first flew on 21 January 1994. After completion, the Spitfire will join the the Chariots of Fire Fighter Collection at Omaka near Blenheim, New Zealand. [Ex G-BUZU, Indian AF NH799]
