The inaugural flight of Ringway's first transatlantic service. Captain G. Jaspis DFC warms up the P&W R-2800's before departure on the 10 hours 22 sector to Gander for refuelling, then on to NY (Idlewild) (later JFK). From Manchester Airport 50 years ago.
