The remains of this B-29 can be found on Bomber Glacier (in the Talkeetna Mountains north of Palmer). She was 17 degrees off course when she came to grief on 15th November 1957 whilst on approach to Elmendorf. Sadly six crew members perished, but four survived. The wreck is now a popular hiking destination. The nose section broke off in the accident and can be seen to the right of the photograph.
