Photo by Celia Lockyer Dunkley. Aircraft hit heavy rain squall and pilots lost visual contact just as the aircraft touched down. No injuries and aircraft soon returned to service. Photo by a stewardess (Mrs Celia Dunkley) who was traveling as a passenger on the Britannia. And a comment from someone who was present at the time - i watched this come in & slide off runway through the golf course while i was on duty, (sasf). Quite a buzz but no one hurt. Saw a Canberra do the same but it but stayed on the runway. Nose wheel up as well, scraped down runway, loads of sparks & noise but crew ok.
