On finals to runway 27L whilst conducting an emergency landing. Flight BA117 to New York-JFK left Heathrow some 11 minutes earlier but returned as a precaution due to a faulty door on the rear left side and was widely reported in the British press. The 747 landed safely and returned its passengers to the terminal. The flight left later that day using a different aircraft. Built in 1998.
