Unusual military visitor to Exeter, this CN-235 was photographed taxying out prior to departing back to her base at Baldonnel-Casement (EIME). One of two CN-235s operated by the Irish Air Corps (Aer Chór na hÃireann) since 1994, they were upgraded in 2006/07 by EADS CASA to the FITS (Fully Integrated Tactical System) Persuader standard with enhanced radar, FLIR (Forward Looking Infra-Red) equipment and new avionics. The Persuader's primary role is to patrol Irish territorial waters up to 200nm offshore in missions that are typically 7-9 hours in duration. The crew consists of two pilots, two sensor operators, two radar operators and a photographer.
