This is the original a/c which earned the distinction of being the first American a/c to be engaged in combat on Dec. 7th 1941. It was flown by Roy A. Vitousek, and his son Martin, when it encountered the first wave of a 150 Zeros on their way to Pearl Harbour. Two Zeros peeled off and attacked the a/c, whereby Roy landed the a/c at present day Honolulu International Airport and hid in the bushes with his son. 65 yrs later the Vitousek family donated this a/c to the newly open Pacific Aviation Museum.
