Photographed in the static display at IAT 93 and 'armed' with AIM-9L Sidewinder drill rounds. This Hawk proudly wears the tiger markings of 74(R) Squadron. The squadron had been reformed in October the previous year as part of No.4 FTS at RAF Valley. At the 1993 Tiger Meet the squadron won the coveted 'Silver Tiger' award, considering they were competing against frontline fighters like the F-16 and Mirage, an amazing achievement. This particular Hawk was delivered to the RAF on the 19th November 1991. She was still wearing 74 Squadron markings but on top of an all-over black scheme when the squadron disbanded on the 22nd September 2000 with the rationalisation of 4 FTS into just two squadrons.
