Photographed at Air Fete 92 the leader's Alpha Jet heads a line of the ten aircraft of the Patrouille de France. Based at Salon-de Provence home of the French Air Force Academy the Patrouille de France are one of the oldest aerobatic display teams in the world originating in 1931. The team have operated the Alpha Jet E (Ecole, French for School) since 1981 when they replaced the venerable Fouga Magister which they had used since 1964.
