What wonders waited in the hold of this C-2A that made people form a queue at Air Fete 92? At the time she was allocated to VR-24 ('Lifting Eagles') based at NAS Sigonella, Sicily, Italy. The squadron's primary mission was to provide Carrier Onboard Delivery (COD) support to the US Navy's 6th Fleet in the Mediterranean, and when called upon, US Naval forces operating in other parts of the world. VR-24 became known as the 'world's biggest little airline' and prided itself in being able to deliver 'anything, anytime, anywhere'. Formed on the 3rd December 1946 the squadron disbanded on the 31st March 1993.
