Close up of the nose-art on 60-0024 at Air Fete 92. 'I'll Be Seeing You' is a B-52H-145-BW and is one of 102 H-models produced. She is one of at least four H-model B-52s modified to carry an air-sampling module in the forward bomb bay to detect radioactivity after nuclear tests or accidents. For some reason the modification was known as 'Giant Fish' and these aircraft were used for atmospheric monitoring during the Chernobyl nuclear reactor disaster in 1986. The 416th operated B-52Hs for only a few years, as the unit was disbanded in 1995; its B-52s were transferred to the 5th Bomb Wing based at Minot AFB, North Dakota. Note the characteristic rippling of the fuselage skin common to the B-52.
