Spangdahlem based Wild Weasel Phantom photographed at the much missed Mildenhall Air Fete of 1991. When this photograph was taken the F-4G was in the twilight of her operational career having already been replaced by the Block 30/32 F-16C/D Fighting Falcons in the 52nd TFW's other two squadrons. In late 1990 however, the 81st TFS remained a Phantom unit and deployed twenty-four aircraft to Shaika Isa Air Base, Bahrain for combat operations during Operation Desert Storm. This particular F-4G was originally built as an F-4E and was one of the initial batch of 115 aircraft converted to F-4G standard. She was withdrawn from use on the 26th March 1996 and was placed into storage at AMARC with the inventory code FP1030.
