The 1,450 hp Wright R-1820 nine-cylinder engine made the T-28B one of the most powerful ab initio trainers of the fifties, and this one was built in 1954 under the US Naval Bureau Number 140225. After being struck off charge it came on the US Registry as N125NA. On the 20th November 1987 it was registered in Canada as C-FJVW, nearly four years later, the 21st August 1991, it was returned to the USA where it became N228AC. The aircraft has been refurbished and restored in the colours of US Navy Training Squadron VT-5, and is pictured here just after landing, with flaps and speed-break extended.
