Photographed during her display during Air Tournament International 92 at Boscombe. This Liberator of the Confederate Air Force (since renamed Commemorative Air Force) is the oldest B-24 in existence and was the 25th of over 18,000 built. She was the 18th of an order for 20 LB-30 Liberators for the Royal Air Force. She was involved in an accident on her delivery flight to Canada in 1941 and was subsequently rebuilt by Consolidated to transport configuration. She was used as a company aircraft throughout World War II. She flew on a scheduled basis between San Diego, Fort Worth and New York. Because of her RAF serial AM927 she became known simply as 'Old 927'. After the war she was sold to the Continental Can Company and was used as an executive transport for about ten years. She was then sold to the national oil company of Mexico, Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), and was flown in Latin America until being acquired by the CAF in 1967. Since this photograph was taken she has been significantly restored to B-24A configuration and now wears an early USAAF camoflage scheme and carries the name 'Ol 927'.
