Photographed in the static display during Air Tournament International 92 at Boscombe. This VFA-83 'Rampagers' Hornet is the personal jet of their CO. Shore based at NAS Oceana, Virginia but assigned to the USS Saratoga (CV-60) at the time, VFA-83 made their first Hornet deployment in the summer of 1990 in support of Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. For 43 days they flew a total of 237 combat missions over Iraq and Kuwait. In May 1992 they deployed to the Adriatic in support of United Nations operations over the former Yugoslavia.
