Photographed in the static display during Air Tournament International 92 at Boscombe. This Viking of VS-30 'Diamondcutters' is the personal jet of their CO. Displayed on the tail is the insignia of Carrier Air Wing Seventeen (CVW-17) shore based at NAS Oceana, Virginia but at the time assigned to the USS Saratoga (CV-60). During the first Gulf War, CVW-17 and Saratoga were stationed in the Red Sea, and launched combat strikes against Iraq almost continuously over the 43 days of Operation Desert Storm.
