When first leased by QF the aircraft was basically in full BA colours with QF titles. However, the tail of the aircraft apparently caused confusion at LAX with controllers believing it to be a BA aircraft operating a BA service calling with a QF flight number! The tail was painted white to remedy this situation although a little of the yellow still appears on the bottom of the tail.
