Photographed in the static display during Air Tournament International 92 at Boscombe, this C-130 was one of twelve 'E' model Hercs ordered in 1965 to increase the RAAF's transport capacity because of Australia's involvement in the Vietnam War. All twelve were allocated to the newly reformed 37 Squadron based at Richmond, New South Wales, and were delivered between August 1966 and January 1967. The last RAAF C-130E flight by the squadron took place on the 14th November 2000 in A97-160. 37 Squadron remains a Hercules operator flying the C-130H and C-130J variants.
